Breakdown of Today’s Update

Published 10/16/17 12:20 pm am central:

Traders,

On 10/16/17 I highlighted a sell zone in the December 10yr note.  We were looking to use the 60 min bottom boxes as a sell zone from the recent pop in the market.

The 10 year was holding on the daily bottom and couldn’t break through. We popped higher through the 4 hour tops. The overall trend in this market was still bearish and we were looking at front-running or jump-starting a move back below the current 4-hour bottom zone and test the daily bottom boxes again for further downside momentum.

Our risk on the trade was established above the recent highs on the 4-hour move. The target on this trade was and is open-ended for these exact reasons we are seeing from this trade. We used 60 min entry along with 4 hour and technical highs to attempt to trade through larger technical zones.

This trade has been going nicely in our direction since we put it on, and yesterday we had a strong move lower, following a move higher almost to our entry and now we are breaking the daily bottom level and moving lower.

Much of this move is from fundamental reasons aligned with the technical bearish trend.  We used our longer term bearish bias to find a bearish short-term set up to join this trend after a small bullish move.

Learn from this example on ways to use the tools across all time frames and not just simply having to day trade.
